Figure Study

New for this year is a series of prints focused on the figure. At the end of 2009 I had the fortunate opportunity to work with an exceptional and professional model in Toronto. Using a strategy that runs throughout my body of work, here, the female figure is complicated by an array of layered information. She is neither aggressive or passive. Rather, the subject in this work is elusive, hovering between clinical observation, intimate portraiture and fleeting memory. This idea is carried out through 28 images, all printed in pigmented archival ink on Hahnemuhle Photo rag paper. Each image is limited to an edition of five prints. More examples of this work may be found in the “Photos” section of this website.
